Event Details

Join us as we read and discuss African American literature each month. Books will include fiction and non-fiction. Stories might be about black lives, or stories might be written by black authors. The group will be led by African American studies teacher Jermaine Durning.

February's book is I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown. Read Brown's eye-opening account of growing up Black, Christian, and female as she exposes how white America's love affair with "diversity" so often falls short of its ideals. Pick up a copy of the book on the Holds shelf near the Customer Services Desk.
