Book discussion is back! This time we are reading The
Mothers, by African American author Brit Bennett. The book follows Nadia, a
young woman who left her Southern California hometown years ago after the
suicide of her mother and is called back to attend to a family emergency. This
shows the struggle of a modern black woman and her place in society. A wise and
sad coming-of-age story showing how people are shaped by their losses. Join us
on the library’s patio area outside for a live book discussion. Books will be
provided by the library for those that sign-up and can be picked up at the
Summer Kick-off or you can bring your own. Limited to 10. Please call 708 748 4431 to reserve your book
starting June 7, 2021.
